Car Service from Allentown, PA to Newark Airport
Newark Liberty International Airport is one of United’s big hubs, with a long list of nonstops to Europe, Asia and the West Coast that ABE can’t match. For the eastern half of the Valley it’s often the nearest major airport, and the road there is one interstate: I-78 crosses the Delaware at Phillipsburg, climbs through the Hunterdon County hills past Clinton, runs across Somerset and Union counties and meets the New Jersey Turnpike right beside the airport.
People book this run for a 7 p.m. flight to Europe, a Monday-morning business trip, or a parent flying in from abroad who shouldn’t have to work out trains and buses after a long flight. If the same traveler needs a car for a day of meetings, book black car service by the hour instead.

Sedans, SUVs and Sprinters to EWR
Pick by luggage first. Two travelers with big suitcases fit a business sedan; a family of 5 with ski bags needs the premium SUV; a sales team of 10 with roller bags rides together in an Executive Sprinter, which seats up to 14. Specs are on the fleet page.

Business Sedan
Best for: airport runs, business travel, dinner and nights out

Premium SUV
Best for: families with luggage, ski weekends, executives

Executive Sprinter
Best for: team travel, airport groups, wedding guests
Seat counts are typical for each class and photos show the vehicle type. Your quote names the exact vehicle and its capacity.
Booking a Car Service to EWR from the Lehigh Valley
Add the terminal letter if you know it. The airport roads split for A, B and C soon after the I-78 exit, so knowing it early saves a lap.
Share the EWR Flight Details
List the flight number, the travelers, the checked bags and your street address. Coming home from abroad? Say so, because passport control comes before the pickup.
Your Flat Rate to Newark
Dispatch times the I-78 run for the hour you leave, then sends a written flat rate per vehicle, each way.
Get the Newark Meeting Point
After you accept, the confirmation names your pickup hour, the street address, your contact for travel day and the Newark meeting point for the return.
Newark Airport Car Service from PA: The I-78 Run
This is the simplest of the big-airport drives, and the slow part is almost always the end: the last 10 miles in Union County and the tangle of the Turnpike and Routes 1 and 9 at the airport exits.
| Leaving from | Distance | Usually | New Jersey rush hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Orefield | about 90 mi | 1 h 20 to 1 h 50 | 1 h 55 to 2 h 25 |
| Allentown | about 80 mi | 1 h 15 to 1 h 40 | 1 h 50 to 2 h 15 |
| Bethlehem | about 75 mi | 1 h 10 to 1 h 35 | 1 h 40 to 2 h 05 |
| Easton | about 60 mi | 1 h to 1 h 15 | 1 h 25 to 1 h 50 |
Pickup Times for EWR Departures
These follow TSA’s general rule of thumb (be there 2 hours ahead for domestic, 3 for international) and assume a pickup in Allentown or Bethlehem. Booking a car service from Easton, PA to Newark airport? The pickup can usually be 15 minutes later.
| Wheels up at EWR | Domestic: we’d leave about | International: we’d leave about |
|---|---|---|
| 6 a.m. | 2:30 a.m. | 1:30 a.m. |
| 10 a.m. | 6 to 6:15 a.m. | 4:45 to 5 a.m. |
| 1 p.m. | 9:15 to 9:30 a.m. | 8 to 8:15 a.m. |
| 7 p.m. | 2:45 to 3 p.m. | 1:30 to 1:45 p.m. |
Terminals A, B and C
Terminal A is the newest building, C is mostly United, and B carries a mix of airlines, many international. The AirTrain links all 3 with parking and the rail station, handy after a gate change. Your boarding pass decides the curb.
Newark Liberty Airport Transportation for the Trip Home
For the return, we need 4 things: flight number, terminal, checked-bag count and a phone number that works on landing. Prearranged rides at Newark usually load on the arrivals side of each terminal, and your confirmation names the meeting point.
Storms, Snow and Holiday Weekends
Summer thunderstorms hit Newark’s schedule hard, and an afternoon ground stop can push departures back for hours, so check your flight before the pickup. In winter, the hills on I-78 west of Clinton get snow and ice before the coast does. Thanksgiving week jams I-78 both ways, worst on the Wednesday before and the Sunday after; add 30 minutes.

Why Riders Choose DT Goods for Newark
Buses and trains to Newark run on someone else’s clock. A car from your driveway runs on yours.
Based in Orefield
We’re about 15 minutes from Allentown and from ABE, so Route 22 at rush hour, I-78 truck traffic and the Turnpike ramps are old news to us.
One Request, Any Size
A sedan for 2 or a coach for 56: the same form, the same people, one quote.
Always with a Chauffeur or Driver
Nothing here is self-drive. Every booking comes with someone behind the wheel whose job is getting your people there.
The Quote Comes in Writing
You see the price before anything is booked, and no card is ever taken on this website.
Timing Planned Backward
We start from the time that can’t move (a flight, a dinner reservation, a ceremony or a kickoff) and work back to the pickup, with room for traffic or a snowy morning.
Past the Valley, Still One Contact
When a trip starts somewhere else in the country, we arrange it through partner operators and you keep talking to us.
What a Newark Run Costs
Three things move a Newark price: the vehicle, how far your pickup sits from I-78, and the road and bridge tolls on the way. Request a quote with the flight details to see yours.
Allentown to Newark Airport Car Service: Questions
Before booking Newark, Valley travelers usually compare it with PHL, weigh the bus and shuttle options, and ask about cost and drive time each way.
Is There a Shuttle from Allentown to Newark Airport?
Not a shared one from us; we don’t sell seats on a timetable. What we run is a private shuttle for your group: an Executive Sprinter for up to 14 people, leaving your door at the hour you choose. For 1 to 6 travelers, a sedan or SUV is the usual pick. Scheduled buses are a separate option, covered in the next answer.
Is There a Bus from Allentown to Newark Airport?
Yes. Scheduled bus lines run from the Lehigh Valley toward Newark and New York, and some stop at the airport. For a solo traveler with a carry-on, that can be the cheaper way to go. The trade-off is the timetable: the bus leaves its stop when it’s scheduled to, and you build your day around it. A car leaves your driveway when you do and stops at your terminal.
How Much Is a Car Service to Newark Airport?
A Newark ride is a flat rate per vehicle, each way, worked out from your address. Easton is usually the shortest run and Orefield the longest, and an SUV or Sprinter costs more than a sedan. Tolls and gratuity are the lines worth checking, and the written quote shows what’s included. How pricing works explains how airport rates are set.
Is Newark or PHL Closer to the Lehigh Valley?
It depends on which end of the Valley you live in. From Easton, Newark is clearly closer, about an hour on I-78. From Allentown, PHL and Newark are close to even, both usually somewhere between 75 and 105 minutes. From Orefield and the western townships, PHL is a little nearer because the Turnpike is right there. Our PHL page has that route.
How Long Is the Ride from Easton to Newark Airport?
Usually about an hour, sometimes a bit over. Easton sits on the Delaware across from Phillipsburg, so a car is in New Jersey within minutes of leaving Centre Square. Weekday mornings after 6:30, plan on closer to 1 hour 30, because the slow part is the last stretch in Union County, not the open road through Hunterdon.
Is the Trip Home from Newark Slower?
Often, if you land in the afternoon. Westbound I-78 out of Union County usually fills up from about 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays, and the first 20 miles can take as long as the rest of the drive. A midday or late-evening landing usually means a much easier ride back across the river.
